JONES TOWNSHIP – A Wilcox man is facing charges after firing a gun toward another man during an argument, reported Ridgway-based state police.

James V. Biel II, 34, is charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

According to state police, the victim went to Biel’s residence, located on Raselass Road, to retrieve personal property at approximately 9 p.m. Tuesday.

While there, a verbal argument escalated between the two men, Biel allegedly brandished a gun and fired a shot that passed the victim’s head.

Charges were filed against Biel Wednesday and an arrest warrant was obtained through the office of Magisterial District Judge James L. Martin.

On Thursday Biel was apprehended and arraigned before Martin, who set his bail at $50,000 straight. Unable to post, Biel was incarcerated at the Elk County Jail.
