DUBOIS – Sandy Township officials heard an update Monday night on the negotiations between the township and DuBois City with regards to the water and sewer systems.
According to Supervisor Kevin Salandra, the joint committee is “more optimistic” after receiving new information.
He said township officials provided the city with more accurate usage figures since the completion of the previous Act 537 study.
He said the Pennsylvania Utilities Commission (PUC) appeared to be somewhat supportive of a long-term water sale agreement between the two municipalities.
Salandra noted that the PUC has indicated it will investigate further before giving a “hard answer.”
“I know that you are diligently meeting with the city,” said Supervisor Dave Sylvis, “but I hope you are relaying our urgency to get something solid.”
The supervisors again tabled any action with regards to the sale of its water and sewer systems.
In other business, the supervisors announced the clean-up day will now be held Nov. 13. A leaf pick-up date hasn’t been announced yet and may end up being in early December.
