State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about a burglary that occurred sometime Oct. 30-31 on Lundberg Road in Snyder Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered an unlocked shed and removed a green 2013 Polaris 400 Sportsman H.O. 4X4 all-terrain vehicle. State police say prior to fleeing the scene, they also took a pair of binoculars from the front porch of the victim’s camp. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-371-4652.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Nov. 3 at Wal-Mart in Young Township. During the incident, a Rossiter couple allegedly acted with harassing and threatening behavior toward the victim, which put her in fear of her personal safety. The couple was cited for the incident through the district court.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 on Commons Lane in Ridgway Township. During the incident, someone allegedly slashed the tires of the victims’ vehicles. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-776-6136.
- State police reported on a drug-related incident that occurred Nov. 2 in the area of Montmorenci Avenue and Ash Street in Ridgway Borough. During a traffic stop, a 26-year-old Ridgway woman was found in possession of a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Charges will be filed through the district court.
- State police responded to a motor vehicle crash that occurred Sunday on the Bennetts Valley Highway. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Eleanor Masisak of Houtzdale was traveling south when another driven by Angela Huff of Weedville pulled out from Hickory Avenue, causing the two to crash. Masisak was pronounced dead at the Penn Highlands Elk Hospital. State police say both vehicles sustained severe damage and the crash investigation is ongoing at this time. State police were assisted on-scene by the Jay Township Fire Department and Bennetts Valley Emergency Medical Services.
Lawrence Township
- Police responded to a reported DUI crash that occurred Nov. 2 on South Second Street. As part of the investigation, the driver was asked to perform field sobriety tests and police say he showed signs of impairment. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Nov. 2 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. While shopping at the store, a 44-year-old Philipsburg woman approached another woman and allegedly started yelling obscenities and threatening her in front of her sister and children. Police say the woman told the victim she would be waiting for her outside the store. Charges will be filed against her as a result of the incident.
- On Nov. 3, police reported a wallet, belonging to Patrick Naab, 24, of Hyde, was found at the Goldenrod Storage buildings. He’s asked to please contact township police to claim it.
- Police received a report about an incident of theft Nov. 1 on Leonard Street. According to police, there was $75,000 removed from an elderly female’s bank account. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police reported on an incident of DUI that occurred Sunday on Washington Avenue near Hall Street. During a traffic stop, a 33-year-old Clearfield man allegedly showed signs that he was under the influence of a controlled substance. After an evaluation, he was taken to the Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital for a legal blood draw. He was then released into the care of his wife with charges currently pending at this time.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about an incident of fraud on Nov. 1. According to police, a Florida woman requested a local male to send gift cards in exchange for money in the future. Police would like to remind residents not to provide personal information or money to unknown callers.
- Police received a report about a phone scam on Nov. 1. According to police, the caller claimed to be with the U.S. Treasury Department and stated there was a case against a local resident in federal court. The resident neither returned the call nor provided any information.
- While on routine patrol Nov. 1, police observed a wanted male known as Richard Whitmore. He was stopped and taken into custody, at which time he was allegedly found in possession of drugs and paraphernalia. Police had Whitmore lodged in county jail with charges pending.
- Police received a noise complaint Nov. 2 in the 100 block of East Long Avenue. Upon arrival, police met with those responsible and the music was turned down.
- On Nov. 2, police received a report about a theft in the 100 block of Evergreen Street. Within the past week, someone allegedly took an American flag and Halloween decorations from the victim’s residence. Anyone with information is asked to contact city police.
- Police received a report about a theft Nov. 2 in the 100 block of Robinson Street. During the incident, someone allegedly took a portable Bostitch compressor from the victim’s address. Anyone with information is asked to contact city police.
- Police received a report about a disturbance Nov. 2 at a business on Hoover Avenue. According to police, a male was on a scooter and wearing underwear on his head. Upon arrival on-scene, police spoke with him and told him he wasn’t permitted there anymore. He left the scene without further incident.
- Police received a report about a disturbance Nov. 2 at a business in the 600 block of Liberty Boulevard. Upon arrival on-scene, police learned a male was on a scooter, yelling at people inside the business and causing trouble. Upon speaking with police, the male left the area.
- On Nov. 3, police received a report about a male wearing a T-shirt and pounding on a door at a First Street residence. Contact was made with him and police found he was under the influence of alcohol. He was put under arrest for public drunkenness and taken to the city police station. He was cited for the incident and released into the care of his mother.
- Police received a report about an ATV being driven through yards in the 400 block of East Park Avenue. Upon arrival on-scene, police were advised the rider had left and was traveling the wrong way down the roadway. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the ATV.
- Police received a report about loud music in the first block of South Franklin Street. Upon arrival, police spoke with those responsible and they had already turned it down. Police cleared the scene as a result.
