CURWENSVILLE – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting motorists that RJ Corman Railroad crews will begin work on the overhead railroad bridge spanning Route 879 near Curwensville on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
Traffic will be limited to a single lane while crews work to remove and replace the timber decking, steel walkway and railing.
Work will take place during daylight hours, so motorists traveling through the area should anticipate minor delays. Those familiar with the area may consider alternate routes.
All lanes will remain open when work is not being done. The work is expected to be completed in four to five days, with all work weather and schedule dependent.
PennDOT reminds drivers to obey posted speed limits, approach railroad crossings with caution and to “Always expect a train.”
