BROOKVILLE – Most people have heard of or know someone who has had LASIK eye surgery to improve their vision.
Now is the chance for you, a relative, a friend or someone in need to share in that experience.
The Laurel Eye Clinic, a full-service eye care provider with 10 locations throughout western and central Pennsylvania, has announced its “Giving Eyes” Contest, which is providing LASIK eye surgery for two lucky individuals.
LASIK eye surgery is a surgical procedure that improves vision and decreases dependence on contact lenses and prescription eyewear.
Thousands of people have the procedure done every year to correct eyesight problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia.
The procedure itself is pretty quick — it only takes about 15 minutes total to operate on both eyes. The surgeon uses a laser to reshape your cornea so that light is correctly focused when hitting the retina.
To enter, contestants must simply find the “Giving Eyes” Contest button on the Laurel Eye Clinic Web site (www.laureleye.com), and submit a short, 300-word essay on how they or someone they know would benefit from LASIK vision correction.
Two entries will be chosen by a panel of Laurel Eye Clinic employees and will receive a bilateral Bladeless LASIK procedure valued at $5,000. No purchase is necessary to win and the cut-off date to enter the contest is Nov. 30.
