The film “Shooting Heroin,” the latest from Spencer Folmar’s Hard Faith brand, deals with the opioid epidemic and will feature scenes throughout Clearfield and Centre counties.

The production crew has a need for people to participate as extras in upcoming movie scenes to be filmed in October.

Folmar’s crew previously held open auditions and they are now in need of extras for some additional scenes filming on Oct. 19 and Oct. 14.

On Friday, Oct. 19, they will have a particularly strong need for extras. He says the team will need over 200 people to participate, maybe even 300 adult extras for a scene.

The scene will involve a “memorial march for someone who had died because of the drug industry” in the fictional town featured in the film.

He says he needs individuals to come out that night, and hold candles and be shown in the march scene.

They will also need extras for an additional scene involving teenagers, to be filmed at the West Branch School on Oct. 14.

“This is a big extra scene, for teenagers … anywhere from like age 12 to 18, even 19 … even young college kids,” Folmar said.

“We’d like them to come out, fill up the bleachers in the old gym at the West Branch auditorium and then it’ll be a mock (fake) school assembly of a mother talking to school kids … trying to get them not to do drugs.”

He says that in addition to those two big scenes, extras will also be needed for various bar scenes around the area.

Folmar added: “We have a lot of bar scenes that we’re filming at Legends in Clearfield, St. Charles Cafe, The Toasted Monkey … so we need a lot of extras and community support …. as we’ve had all along the way.”

Individuals can sign up to be involved by checking out the movie’s Web site: https://www.heroinfilm.com/extras.
