CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre Inc. (CAST) is gearing up for another busy month, and it is announcing upcoming events for September.
Rehearsals for Clearfield Choral Society will be Sunday evenings at CAST from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 9.
Anyone age 16 and older is welcome to join, and new members will be accepted through Sept. 30. Registration is $15 per person.
This group performs at several community events during the winter, and will have a final concert in mid-December. They will sing Christmas Classics, newer winter arrangements and an arrangement by popular a capella ensembles.
Clearfield Choral Society is directed by Catherine Mandell and Mason Strouse, with Gary Wilsoncroft serving as accompanist.
Rehearsals for High Voltage Youth Choir will be Sunday evenings from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at CAST beginning Sept. 9. Any student in grades 2-6 is welcome to participate.
Registration is $20 per student. This group also performs several times during the fall and winter, with a Christmas-themed show. High Voltage is directed by Rachel Duke.
The annual CAST membership meeting will be held Monday, Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the CAST auditorium. This meeting is used to update the public on CAST finances, projects that have been completed in the last year and to announce next year’s season.
Members also elect new board members for vacant board positions. Membership is open to any person of any age. The membership fee is $25, and forms are located on the CAST Web site (www.ClearfieldArts.org) and at the meeting.
CAST is also organizing a “Do As You Please” bus trip to New York City on Saturday, Sept. 15. The cost is $75 per person.
You can sign up online at www.ClearfieldArts.org. The bus will pick-up at DuBois Sears at 4:30 a.m., Clearfield Wal-Mart at 5 a.m., and Milesburg Best Way Truck Stop at 5:30 a.m.
Travelers will depart New York City at 11 p.m. This allows plenty of time for participants to see two Broadway shows, if desired.
CAST is a non-profit arts center located at 112 E. Locust St., in the heart of downtown Clearfield. For more information, visit www.ClearfieldArts.org or call 814-765-4474.
