DUBOIS – A DuBois man accused of pleasuring himself while in a mall parking lot was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Friday.
Preston Kevin Dover, 41, is charged with indecent exposure and a summary disorderly conduct for his behavior in the parking lot of the DuBois Mall on Feb. 25.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, police received a report of a man hanging out in the parking lot.
Security personnel said they had received complaints about this man sitting in his vehicle in the lot at closing time. Employees reported that they saw the man pleasuring himself inside the vehicle.
Three women also complained he was parking too close to their vehicles. One of them was able to get his license number, which was traced to Dover, who reportedly had issues in the past for similar behavior.
When officers confronted Dover at his home, he stated he goes to the mall to use the Wifi connection at Staples even though it is located at the other side of the mall.
Dover became more nervous as the officer told him about the complaints of the employees who had seen his activity. Dover said he just liked to watch the females leave and that was why he was there.
Dover was told he was no longer welcome at the DuBois Mall.
On May 11 police were called back to the mall parking lot because Dover was there near Staples.
When police arrived, no one was in the vehicle, but Dover later came out of the mall. He told them he really needed something from Staples and that was why he was there. He admitted he was aware he was trespassing.
For this incident, Dover is charged with defiant trespass.
Dover waived his right to hearings in both cases Friday. He is free on $1,000 unsecured bail in each case.
