PENFIELD – James Davis, council commissioner, recently presented the Silver Beaver Award to Boy Scout leaders Ryan Sayers, Greg Kunselman and Keith Wolfe.
Davis presented the award on behalf of the National Council of Boy Scouts of America. It’s the highest council?level distinguished service award.
Recipients are registered scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the unit/district and council levels. They are nominated by a fellow scouter.
Sayers, a Clearfield native, was honored during a recent banquet ceremony at Camp Mountain Run in Penfield. His scouting achievements include:

- 2013 OA Man of the Year
- Past Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop 9, Clearfield
- Past Chairman, Annual Polar Bear Competition, 2016
- Executive Board Member/Solicitor, Bucktail Council

- Advisor, Clearfield and Curwensville Exploring Programs
- Merit Badge Counselor
Sayers is also active in his local community, which includes service as:
