BIG RUN – A 35-year-old Irwin, Pa. man delayed a Fullington Trailways bus for 45 minutes after he became disorderly over an alleged theft of money.
According to the Punxsutawney-based state police, the incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 119 in Big Run Borough.
State police say the bus stopped after the man “stripped down to his underwear” and engaged in a verbal altercation with another passenger.
Upon further investigation, state police determined the man had stolen $162 from the passenger. This caused an altercation when he was asked to give the money back.
State police say the man took off his clothing in order to prove he didn’t steal any money. However, he returned $102, which was witnessed by a passenger.
After the delay, the bus driver resumed the regular route.
The man was arrested by state police for theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct. He was remanded to the Jefferson County Jail to await arraignment.
