CLEARFIELD – On Monday the Greater Clearfield Chamber of Commerce held its final Exploring Program for the 2017-18 school year at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School.
This program is designed to educate and show the students that there are job opportunities in the Clearfield area after graduating high school.
Area businesses combined with the Chamber of Commerce to raise funds for the Exploring Program. This program was developed and made possible by the Boy Scouts of America.
Eighth grade students are mandated by the commonwealth of Pennsylvania to participate in career-based interactions during the school year.
The final speakers for this month were Sgt. Chance Harling from the U.S. Army and Corporal Charles Hockenberry Jr. from the Pennsylvania State Police.
Both speakers discussed their career opportunities and the importance of staying on the right path.
The Exploring Program will kick off in September for the 2018-19 school year, and it will be expanding to the Curwensville Area High School, as well.
