BRADFORD — Kate Lansberry drove in six runs with four singles and three teammates also had four hits while Abby Fedder and Erica Hanes combined on a three-inning no-hitter as the Clearfield Area High School softball team blitzed Bradford 23-0 in non-league action Monday.
Whether it’s a program record or not is unknown, but the Lady Bison at least challenged the standard by exploding for 15 runs on 16 hits and two walks in the second inning.
Kirstin Norman also had a career day with four singles and three RBIs in the Lady Bison’s 25-hit attack.
Mackenzie Lansberry, who doubled, and Aspen Bishop contributed four hits and two RBIs apiece. Bishop also scored four runs.
Makayla Ross had three hits, drove in two runs and scored four.
Lindsay Hand chipped in two hits and three RBIs, and Karly Rumsky also had two hits, one a triple, and two RBIs, one on a sacrifice fly.
Rumsky, both Lansberrys, Bishop, Ross, Norman and Hand each had two safeties in the second, when the Lady Bison sent 21 batters to the plate.
The big hits were a two-run double by Mackenzie Lansberry and two-run singles by Kate Lansberry and Hand.
Fedder struck out four of the six batters she faced to earn her third victory.
Hanes had one strikeout and one walk in the third inning.
Clearfield improved to 5-7, while Bradford fell to 0-8.
The Lady Bison will return to Mountain League action at Tyrone Tuesday.
Clearfield fans should note that Wednesday’s non-league make-up game with Glendale has been cancelled because of that team’s league commitments and has been replaced on the schedule by a non-league home game against Brookville on Tuesday, May 8.
