KARTHAUS – A community is rallying behind a family with a baby boy who is currently battling cancer.
According to the Facebook group, Praying for Elijah, “Baby E” was diagnosed with a brain tumor at just five months old. He has a “long road of surgeries and treatments ahead of him.”
Events have been organized in an effort to raise funds for this baby boy and his family.
- A LulaRoe fundraiser will be held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. April 14 at the Karthaus Fire Hall. Several retailers will be on-hand and will donate a portion of their sales to “Baby E.” There will also be a bake sale and Chinese auction. Orders will be taken for “Elijah’s Entourage” T-shirts.
- The Clearfield County Career and Technology Center’s adult cosmetology program will host a hair loss benefit. It will feature a “huge silent auction,” local craft and food vendors and nail art, etc. The CCCTC event will be held from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. April 28 with all proceeds to benefit “Baby E” and his family.
- A spaghetti dinner will be held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. April 29 at the Karthaus Fire Hall. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 years and under. The dinner will include spaghetti, meatballs, applesauce, roll, drink and dessert. You can dine in or take out. The dinner will be held in conjunction with a Chinese auction and 50/50 drawing.
- Donations are currently being accepted for a Paddle Auction on May 20. It’s being held at the Lecontes Mills Fire Hall. There will also be a 50/50, vendors and food. To donate or help, you are asked to please contact Tami at 814-553-3006 or Wanda at 814-592-0749.
