Josephine J. Vezza, 94, of Clearfield died Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born July 4, 1923, a daughter of the late Samuel and Lula (Mitchell) Lamendola.
Mrs. Vezza was employed as a sewing machine operator for more than 25 years for McGregor’s Sportswear.
She was a member of the St. Francis Church and the former Clearfield Martha Washington Lodge No. 1525 Order Sons of Italy in America.
She is survived by two daughters, Frances George of Wooster, Ohio and Gloria Brown and her husband, Ted of State College; four grandchildren, Christopher George, Adam Brown, Dustyn Brown and Katie Ashworth; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony F. Vezza on June 19, 2008.
She was also preceded in death by seven sisters, Lena Yacabucci, Virginia Mayo, Turi Sturniolo, Theresa Zacione, Ann Hayman, Margaret Lombardo and Mary Cimo and three brothers, Anthony, Philip and James Lamendola.
A memorial mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Fr. Brandon Kleckner as celebrant. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Francis Church, 212 S. Front St., Clearfield, PA, 16830 or to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 275 21st St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
