DCC Sends 10 Students to PJAS Competition in Altoona

ALTOONA – DuBois Central Catholic sent 10 students to the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Sciences competition at Penn State Altoona on Saturday, March 3.

Five students will be advancing to the state level of competition.

Advancing to the State PJAS event on May 21 at Penn State University Park are Alex Ochs, Ashley Mayes, Carley Semancik, Maria Tomasko and Isaac Pifer.

Others competing at the event were Sara Werner, Megan Ochs, Lindsey Reiter, Colin Micknis and Hayes Cooper.

Accompanying the students were PJAS Advisor Renee Gressler and Principal Dawn Bressler.

Advisor Gressler comments, “These students from various middle and high school grades choose to commit time outside of their regular science classes to gather their data and conduct their experiments for PJAS, which shows a strong desire to compete.”
