JAY TOWNSHIP – A 48-year-old Jay Township man, Robert J. Wehner, was arrested after an alleged armed robbery Saturday night.
According to state police at Ridgway, the incident occurred at around 10 p.m. in the 300 block of Dewey Road in Benezette, Jay Township.
State police say Wehner attempted to steal cash, firearms and other personal items, which were valued at an estimated $3,600, from the victims’ residence.
Wehner was armed with a loaded pistol when he confronted them, the victims told troopers, and a struggle ensued. He was held at the residence until their arrival at the scene.
Wehner was taken into custody for outstanding warrants and for multiple Title 18 violations. Charges were filed through the district court.
