Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a possible identity theft that occurred Monday on Mount Joy Road in Clearfield. According to police, a local resident was receiving bills for an account it didn’t open with Comcast. Police say it appears the account was opened in Reading, Pa., and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a running vehicle that was unattended on North Front Street. Police were able to secure the vehicle and notify the owner.
- Police received a report about a physical altercation between a male and female on Ogden Avenue. At the scene, police located a male hiding in a garage. He was taken into custody and to jail.
- Police received a report about a child custody issue on Cumberland Street. Police were able to resolve the situation at the scene.
- Police received a report about a disoriented male on Nichols Street. Upon arrival, police summoned emergency personnel to the scene. It was determined that the male was suffering from a medical issue.
- Police received a report about a female who left a store without purchasing items on East Market Street. Police were able to identify the female who allegedly admitted to taking the items.
- Police arrested a male for public intoxication after he was found to be highly intoxicated along Reed Street.
Curwensville Borough
- While on routine patrol in the Irvin Park area, police discovered that the green gate, which blocks traffic from entrance, had been damaged. It appears that someone struck the gate and post with their vehicle, breaking the post off at the ground and badly damaging the gate. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 814-236-3858.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct that occurred at the Snappy’s convenience Store in Curwensville.
- The Curwensville Street Department was assisted during a recent winter storm/snow emergency.
- Police received a report from a local business regarding an alleged incident of fraud. The case remains open at this time.
- Police received a report about lost property from a State Street residence.
- Police received a report about a traffic problem in the area of Filbert and North streets. Police observed five snowmobiles pulling out onto the roadway. When the drivers were stopped, they were advised that snowmobiles were not street legal and are considered to be the same as an all-terrain vehicle.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle in the area of State Street and Bloomington Avenue. Upon arrival, police assisted with removing the vehicle from the roadway.
DuBois City
- Police responded to a hit-and-run on Hospital Avenue. Upon arrival, police made contact with a female who said she was backing out her vehicle at the same time as another driver. Their rear bumpers struck each other, she told police. She felt the “jolt,” got out of her vehicle and saw light scratches and a small paint transfer. She attempted to flag down the other driver with negative results. When police located the other driver, she said she never realized impact was made and that she was involved in an accident. Police assisted with the exchange of information.
- Police received a report about a resident receiving a package that was already opened. He retrieved the package from his porch and observed that its seal was broken. He said it didn’t appear that any items were missing, which he verified with the sender.
- Police received a report about a broken window on DuBois Street. According to police, a small hole in the glass was observed, but there weren’t any footprints in the snow near the residence. Police say it’s currently unclear what might have caused the hole and if the window was intentionally damaged.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a female at an East Long Avenue residence. Further, police found that everything was OK.
