Kathryn M. Mehallow, 93, of Hawk Run died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
Born June 3, 1924 in Sandy Ridge, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Maude (Quick) Roach.
She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Hawk Run, and the church’s Altar Society.
She was an avid reader and a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She had worked at the General Cigar Plant and was a volunteer at the former Philipsburg Area Hospital.
On Sept. 30, 1941 in Hawk Run, she married John Mehallow Jr., who died Jan. 28, 1984.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Mehallow of Hawk Run, Victoria Godin and Kathryn Grace and her husband, Anthony, both of Houtzdale, James Mehallow and his wife, Pat of Cygnet, Ohio, Paul Mehallow and his wife, Beth of Watsontown, Susan Clark and her husband, Lawrence of Morann and Maribeth Ehrenzeller and her husband, Paul of Thomasville; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The last of her generation, she was preceded in death by her parents and husband; son, John P. Mehallow Sr.; son-in-law, William Godin; daughter-in-law, Faye Mehallow; brother, Pat Roach; and five sisters, Ellen Bumbarger, Harriet Hubler, Nora Bell Martin, Betty Burton and Alice Supko.
A Divine Liturgy will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Hawk Run, with Father James Ragan as celebrant.
A private burial will be held at the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hawk Run.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, P.O. Box 2, Hawk Run, PA 16840.
