State police at DuBois
- State police stopped a Nissan Altima, which displayed a stolen registration plate, Monday on Interstate 80 westbound at mile-marker 88.8 in Washington Township. According to the report, the vehicle was occupied by Alhaji D. Jatta, 21, of Bronx, NY and Ibrhima Dukaray, 22. State police say after a brief contact with Dukaray, he fled and a pursuit ensued for approximately 10 miles. Dukaray reportedly lost control of the vehicle while trying to exit I-80 at exit 78. The vehicle subsequently impacted a roadway sign and overturned near the off-ramp. Both Jatta and Dukaray then allegedly fled on foot but were apprehended after a brief search of local businesses. State police later determined the Nissan Altima was also stolen. Jatta and Dukaray were arraigned on charges with their bail being set at $500,000; both were unable to post bail and put in the Jefferson County Jail.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Sunday on East Presqueisle Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly wrote obscenities on the victim’s sports utility vehicle with black marker. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
Sandy Township
- On Friday a 28-year-old DuBois woman was traveling on the Watson Highway when a deer ran out in front of her vehicle. It hit the deer, causing moderate damage to her vehicle. No injuries were reported as a result, and the deer was gone prior to police arrival.
- On Friday a 52-year-old Treasure Lake woman reported that she had been contacted by a foreign caller. She was told that her computer was being hacked, and they needed remote access to it. She was subsequently asked to provide her debit card number. After the call, she talked to her father and realized it was a scam.
- Police received a report about a domestic dispute at a Wilson Avenue residence on Friday. A 53-year-old woman told police she had been in an argument with her 45-year-old boyfriend. Police say the report came through a third-party, and officers handled the situation without incident.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at JC Penny on Saturday.
- Police received a report about a white Ford Escape being driven in a reckless manner Saturday in the area of Dixon Avenue and South Brady Street. However, the vehicle was gone upon police arrival.
- A dog was located on Woods Road and turned over to police on Sunday.
- On Sunday a Treasure Lake resident reported that someone damaged his retaining wall.
