DECATUR TOWNSHIP – The investigation is continuing into a fire that destroyed a two-story, Decatur Township residence Saturday morning.
According to Ridgway-based state police, the fire occurred at 4:27 a.m. at 588 Taylor St. It was investigated by the PSP fire marshal unit and the Chester Hill Fire Department.
The resident was home at the time of the fire, and he sustained minor injuries as a result. However, he declined to have any medical treatment.
“Damage is estimated at $50,000, and the home was a total loss,” state police say. “The cause of the fire remains under investigation”
The Philipsburg, Osceola Mills and Houtzdale fire departments and the Salvation Army assisted at the scene.
