CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre Inc. (CAST) is kicking off its “Raise the Roof” fundraising campaign to raise money for a much-needed roof, which is scheduled to be completed this fall.
Concerns over leaks growing in severity over the past couple of years resulted in the board of directors’ decision to move forward with the estimated $11,378 partial roof and gutter replacement at the board meeting held Sept. 11.
The worst portions of the multi-building will be covered with a metal roof and 6” gutters will replace the existing damaged 4” gutters for improved water disbursement.
Upon hearing of the needs of CAST, CNB Bank’s Joe Bower, president/chief executive officer, and Brian Wingard, chief financial officer, wasted no time in responding with a generous donation of $2,500.
“CAST offers so much to our community in the way of arts, theater and music programs. CNB is more than happy to support the needs of the organization,” Bower said.
He went on to say, “The impressive programs that CAST brings to our community through entirely volunteer efforts is commendable, and I hope that our staff and customers continue to volunteer and enjoy the programs offered for many years to come.”
Mason Strouse, treasurer of CAST board of directors, was on hand to accept the donation from Wingard.
Strouse indicated CAST has been able to accomplish many building improvements with the support of its membership and community sponsorships and patronage.
“On behalf of the board of directors and the hundreds of members, volunteers and patrons, I am humbled by our communities’ continued support and generosity,” he said.
CAST is hopeful to raise enough money to pay for the partial roof replacement. Should the campaign exceed its expectations, funds will be put toward other much-needed building projects, such as furnace replacement, air conditioning and remainder of the roof, for starters.
If you are interested in supporting the CAST “Raise the Roof” fundraising campaign, donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 613, Clearfield, PA 16830 or by calling CAST at 814-765-4474 for an appointment.
