State police at Clearfield
- State police responded to a single-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday on Quehanna Highway in Karthaus Township. A vehicle operated by a 58-year-old Penfield man, Jeffrey Gaston, was traveling west when he lost control. He was negotiating a left-hand curve when his vehicle went off the north shoulder and struck a stone embankment. Gaston was taken by ambulance to the Altoona Hospital for treatment. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Tuesday or Wednesday at Randy’s Repair and More in Union Township. During the incident, someone allegedly used a BB gun to shoot and damage the front window and door glass and the siding of the business. State police say the suspect also shot the rear window of a vehicle belonging to a customer and the rear spare tire cover on another customer’s vehicle. State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Tuesday at the PennDOT shed parking lot in Worth Township. During the incident, someone allegedly placed screws against the front tires of the victim’s vehicle, so when she backed up it would deflate them. State police say she discovered the screws before backing up her vehicle. The investigation is ongoing at this time, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Philipsburg barracks at 814-342-3370.
- State police received a report about an incident of burglary/theft that occurred Sept. 6-7 on Black Moshannon Road in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly broke into the victim’s residence and stole several items, including a credit card. State police say the credit card was used at a local bank in Philipsburg. - State police reported an incident of criminal mischief involving a drug violation that occurred Tuesday on North Seventh Street in Philipsburg Borough. Troopers responded to a domestic dispute and upon arrival, they encountered a 43-year-old Philipsburg man, William T. Blankenship, and the victim. While troopers determined there hadn’t been a physical altercation, they learned he had allegedly broken a wooden chair into several pieces and thrown it around during the verbal argument. State police say a glass smoking pipe used for inhaling controlled substances was also located and determined to belong to Blankenship. He was subsequently taken into custody and arraigned on charges. He was lodged in the Centre County Jail in lieu of $5,000 straight bail. Blankenship’s preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 20 at the Centre County Courthouse.
- State police reported on a drug-related incident that occurred Monday on Phoenix Road in Rush Township. According to state police, there was a report about a suspicious person in the woods. Upon arrival to the scene, Tyler Cowfer, 25, of Philipsburg was allegedly in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Gary Klinger Jr. 22 and Randy Kramer, 30, both of Osceola Mills, were allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed through the district court as a result of the incident.
Sandy Township
- On Monday police reported that a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Ohio man and a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old Ohio man collided while traveling on the Bee Line Highway. Minor damage and no injuries were reported as a result, police said.
- A 34-year-old township resident reported to police that her 35-year-old brother-in-law and his wife were fighting in her yard. However, the man was gone upon police arrival, and the situation was handled without incident.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the 100 block of North Brady Street. Upon arrival, police observed several people who were attending to a male who was sitting down. When police spoke with him, he did complain of minor pain but said he was fine and didn’t need treatment. Police say he walked out between two parked cars, at which time he was struck by a motorist. A family member arrived at the scene, and the male was released to him.
- Police received a report about a domestic disturbance at a West Scribner Avenue residence. When police made contact with those involved, they admitted to yelling at each other. Police say there weren’t any signs of a physical altercation.
