CLEARFIELD – On Wednesday a preliminary hearing was continued for a West Decatur man accused of theft. It’s been re-scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Aug. 16.
Ricky Allan Droll Jr., 45, has been charged by Clearfield-based state police with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, both first-degree misdemeanors.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Droll, a Boggs Township Supervisor, made purchases at Napa Auto Parts. The purchases were for parts and other items for vehicle repairs.
He made the purchases with the Boggs Township credit card account. However, township employees and other supervisors were unable to locate them on vehicles or in the storage area of the garage.
Droll allegedly made five purchases between March 12, 2016 and Dec. 7, 2016, totaling $223.94.
Supervisors William Dickson and Denise Dobo told state police Droll purchased a thermostat for a 2007 Ford F250 truck, the same model he owned at the time of the purchase.
According to the supervisors, Droll said he purchased the thermostat and installed it on the township’s 2007 Ford F550. Dickson took it to garages and found its thermostat was the original.
Township records also showed that Droll didn’t work Oct. 3, 2016 when he purchased rubberized undercoat, sealer, UltraPro body seal and cut off wheel.
