CLEARFIELD – The search for a missing Clearfield woman drew upon manpower from several agencies Saturday, according to Emergency Services Director Joe Bigar.

After Emily Von Gunden, 26, was reported missing, a command post was established near the Clearfield Riverwalk at 8:19 a.m.

Bigar said that within a one-mile perimeter, the search utilized local manpower from the Clearfield, Lawrence Township (Stations 5, 6) and Curwensville Rescue Hose & Ladder fire companies, Clearfield Fire Police and the Clearfield and Lawrence Township police.

Additionally, the Emergency Services Department brought in an Elkland Search and Rescue team, as well as K9 units from Liberty and Heaven Sent. The Clearfield Salvation Army, PA Corps., Disaster Team assisted the agencies that were a part of the search operation.

According to Bigar, the county’s Emergency Services Department coordinated the overall resources. This included a command trailer, all-terrain vehicle rangers and support from the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center’s Cellular Forensics Specialist Division.

“All communications were supported by the 911 Department,” Bigar said.

The search for Von Gunden was successful and she was located later Saturday. Police previously reported that she was found safe and in Clearfield.

Bigar, on behalf of the Emergency Services Department, thanked all of the agencies that assisted in the search operation.
