Brink Sentenced for Growing Marijuana, Having Meth Lab

CLEARFIELD – An Irvona man accused of growing marijuana and having a methamphetamine lab was sentenced Friday in Clearfield County Court.

Ethan Arnold Brink, 24, currently an inmate of state prison, pleaded guilty to ungraded felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of red phosphorus and possession of liquefied ammonia.

President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman sentenced him to two years in the state’s Intermediate Punishment Program.

The charges stem from an incident in October when a search a search warrant was executed on Brink’s residence.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, police responding to the residence had seen marijuana plants hanging in the living room and in the back yard. They had also spotted several items of drug paraphernalia. Because of these observations, a search warrant was prepared for the home.

Police found two large marijuana plants and several branches from a marijuana plant in a bedroom and four potted marijuana plants outside the residence.

Several baggies with processed marijuana and a large envelope with processed marijuana on it were also discovered.

In the kitchen, officers found several items used in the manufacture of meth and an active one-pot methamphetamine lab. Three firearms were also located in the home.

When Brink was interviewed by police, he stated that the marijuana and the marijuana plants were his, and the meth supplies also belonged to him. He said the ingredients in a blue plastic tote belonged to both him and Brandye Lynn Hull.

He admitted they made meth to sell. He stated that about three to four months earlier they were involved in this activity and split the money “down the middle.”

Hull, 25, who also lived at the residence, is charged with manufacture/delivery/possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy, and various other drug offenses.

She signed a plea agreement and is scheduled to be sentenced May 16.
