COALPORT – The cause of a house fire in Coalport remains undetermined at this time, reported the state police at Clearfield.
The house caught fire at 1 a.m. Wednesday at 520 Railroad St. When it was discovered, flames were already burning through the roof of the house.
State police say all three occupants – two adults and a child – were taken to Altoona for treatment of injuries sustained as a result of the fire.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit was requested to investigate the origin and cause due to the extensive damage to the house.
State police say the fire marshal determined it originated in the living room area. However, the cause remains undetermined at this time.
“Further investigation will be conducted in an attempt to determine the cause,” the report stated. “Damages are estimated at $40,000. At this time, it is unknown whether or not the homeowner had insurance.”
State police also say that two firefighters sustained minor burns while fighting the fire.
