Jack L. Cochran, 76, of Philipsburg died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born June 12, 1940 in Webster Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Cleremont Cochran and Elladean (Schrader) Been.
He married Lona (Carnegie) Cochran on June 12, 1964 in Lake Station, Ind. She survives at home.
He was a member of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Osceola Mills.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Operating Engineers Local 150, a retired operating engineer for Heckett Engineering of East Chicago, Ind., and a 1958 graduate of the Hobart High School in Hobart, Ind.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Cochran Lindholm.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Amy Cochran of Hawk Run and Heather Cochran and her fiancé, Kenneth Watro Sr. of Munson; one son, the Very Rev. Protopresbyter David Cochran and his wife, Pani Andrea Cochran of Stafford, Conn.; and three sisters, Eizabeth Starling, Paula Ezell and Lydia Stafford, all of Florida.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jacob Cochran, Sara Cochran, Anthony Laterzo, Stasia Laterzo, Madelaine Cochran, Lauren Stone, Timothy Stone and Zoe Stone and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Osceola Mills, with the Very Rev. Protopresbyter David Cochran officiating. Burial will be at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills. Panachida will be held at 7 p.m.
Military honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
