CLEARFIELD – Visit Clearfield County was named as one of the 2017 Readers’ Choice Award winners by SportsEvents Media Group.

This is a leading industry publication focused exclusively on helping sports event planners produce excellent competitions in the United States, according to a press release given to media at Wednesday’s Clearfield County Recreation and Tourism Authority meeting.

The press release notes that event professionals were asked to nominate destinations and sports venues based on exemplary creativity and professionalism.  Top picks were selected through an online voting system.

John Rezell, executive editor of SportsEvents noted in the release, “It is clear, based on our readers’ experiences, that these award winners are willing to go above and beyond typical service levels to help sports event planners produce outstanding events that participants, their families and spectators will want to experience again and again.  It is our privilege to announce their selection by sports event planners as among the best in the United States.”

Acting Director Sue Swales-Vitullo explained to the CCRTA board that part of the reason VCC was nominated, and eventually won, is due to the hard work promoting Little League competitions in DuBois as well as other events, and she hopes this will translate into the county being able to host more events in coming years.
