Dorothy “Dot” (Schenck) McClintick, 83, died in San Jose, Calif., on Dec. 6, 2016.
Born May 1, 1933 in Ridgway, she was the daughter of the late George “Ray” and Myrna A. (Mohney) Schenck.
She graduated from Ridgway High School and then obtained her education to be a registered nurse from Bradford Hospital School of Nursing. Her career in hospitals spanned 30 years.
On March 19, 1955, she married Clair “Cork” McClintick of Weedville, who preceded her in death Feb. 22, 2008. Life circumstances resulted in alternating periods of residency between Pennsylvania and California, enriching their and their children’s lives.
She loved her family. She was an avid reader, liked crocheting, pets and financial planning.
She is survived by three children, Charles (Beverly) McClintick, Carol (Yin) Shih and Alan McClintick; six grandchildren, Courtney Shih, Michael Shih, Ryan McClintick, Neil McClintick, Robert Chancey and Kymberlie (Chancey) Avila; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Charles R. Schenck.
Family and friends will be received from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Saturday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Weedville.
