NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. – A Pittsburgh woman has been accused of assaulting an emergency medical technician from Amserv, LDT/Dusan Community Ambulance of DuBois on Saturday afternoon in North Versailles.

Patricia Ann Thompson, 53, of Pittsburgh has been charged by North Versailles police with aggravated assault, F2; simple assault, M2; and harassment, S. She has been arraigned at by Magisterial District Judge Gary Michael Zyra in Allegheny County.

According to media reports, Thompson approached the ambulance and accused its driver of hitting her sports utility vehicle. The EMT told police she wasn’t aware she’d hit Thompson’s SUV, and a physical altercation ensued after that.

The EMT, who was dressed in uniform, alleged that Thompson was the aggressor, opening her ambulance door and pulling her out. Thompson then started hitting her in the face and shoulder area, she told police, and a witness, Brian Dougherty, caught the altercation on his cell phone.

“I didn’t see anybody actually pull anybody from the car, but I did see fists flailing,” Dougherty told CBS Pittsburgh. Dougherty published his video to YouTube and the full video can be viewed by clicking here.
