DUBOIS – The state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has rescheduled a public hearing, and it will now be held at 6 p.m. March 7 at Penn State DuBois’ Hiller Auditorium, DuBois.

The purpose of the hearing is to record testimony regarding Windfall Oil & Gas Inc.’s application to drill a new injection disposal well in Brady Township, Clearfield County. It was originally to be held Tuesday but postponed due to the weather.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued an Underground Injection Control permit on July 28, 2015 to authorize the operation of a Class II-D injection disposal well.

The DEP will record presented testimony on Windfall’s application at the hearing. Its comment period will now end March 14, according to information from the department’s Communication Relations Coordinator, John Poister.

Written statements should be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Southwest Oil and Gas District, 400 Waterfront Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

Written statements can also be submitted at tdonahue@pa.gov or by fax to 412-442-4328. Each written statement must include a name, address, telephone for the person submitting it, identification of the permit application (Frank & Susan Zelman No. 1) and a concise statement of the objections to the permit application and the relevant facts upon which they are based.

Those who are in need of an accommodation as provided for in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 should contact Poister or the Pennsylvania AT&T Relay Service at 1-800-654-5984 to discuss how DEP may accommodate needs.
