William W. Britton, 74, of Falls Creek died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born Feb. 17, 1941, he was the son of the late Harold E. and Allene J. (Milliron) Britton.
Mr. Britton was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was an industrial engineer with Modern Tool and Die (MTD) in Detroit, Mich.
He was married to Sharyn Rose (Nester) Britton. She preceded him in death.
He was a life-time member of the James J. Patterson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 813. He was also a member of the Falls Creek Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 965.
Mr. Britton was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
He is survived by three children, Jennifer Flemish of Atlanta, Ga., William Britton of Seattle, Wash., and Alexander Britton of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Mary Jane Smith of Falls Creek, Linda Meyer of Waterford, Mich., and Karen McMahon of Rochester, NY; a brother, Ronald E. Britton of Falls Creek; and a grandson, Trace Flemish. He is also survived by his companion, Connie Craynak.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John H. and Dean Britton.
There will be no public visitation.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at the chapel at Beechwoods Cemetery with Pastor Dave Koehler officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded from the cemetery by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery.
