CLEARFIELD –District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of June 8.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Theodore Wells, 27, of Highland Street, Dubois. Wells is wanted for failure to appear at a Criminal Pre-trial Conference held May 21.
On Nov. 18, 2014, Trooper Jason McKee of the Pennsylvania State Police, Dubois barracks, filed a criminal complaint against Wells. He charged Wells with driving under the influence of alcohol, M; driving vehicle at safe speed, S; careless driving, S; and occupant protection, S.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on March 28, 2014, state police at DuBois were dispatched to Highland Street, Brady Township, for a reported vehicle accident. Upon arrival state police observed a vehicle with extensive damage.
Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, identified as Wells, state police allegedly detected signs of impairment. Wells was then transported to Altoona Regional Hospital for treatment.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Dec. 19, 2014, at which time all charges were held for court. On May 21, Wells failed to appear for a Criminal Pre-trial Conference, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Wells is described as a Caucasian male standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall. Further, he is described as being bald with green eyes.
