DuBois Man Accused of Assaulting Fiancee over Food

DUBOIS – A DuBois man has been charged for allegedly injuring his fiancée.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Patrick Ford’s office March 24, Charles Eugene Bossart, 67, 21 S. Third St., DuBois, is charged by the DuBois City police with assault and harassment.

According to the affidavit, police were called to the emergency department of Penn Highlands DuBois for an alleged domestic assault.

The police spoke to the victim who allegedly said on March 23, she and Bossart were in the kitchen and the victim was preparing food. The victim told police that Bossart was not happy with the way she had prepared the food and they had an argument.

The victim said Bossart allegedly turned to face her, backed up, charged forward and pushed the victim. The victim told police she lost her balance and fell backward, striking her head and neck on a chair before she hit the floor.

Police witnessed bruising to the victim’s left arm, a bleeding wound to her right arm and the hospital reported that they were transferring the victim to a level one trauma center for an undetermined spinal injury.
