Martin A. Nairn, 81, of DuBois died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.
Born Oct. 27, 1933 in Wishaw, he was the son of the late Martin W. and Nellie (Millward) Nairn.
He was married to Frances “Chickie” (Torrell) Nairn. She survives.
He retired from Intel as an engineer and production manager after many years of service.
He was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where he was a member of the Alumni Association. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved to golf and to go camping. He also enjoyed cooking and watching all sports, and was well-known in his youth for his wonderful voice singing at many local events.
He’s survived by his children, Martin A. “Buddy” Nairn Jr. and his wife, Wanda and Jonathan P. Nairn, both of Phoenix, Ariz., Josef E. Nairn and his wife, Shannon of Sacramento, Calif., Jerome P. Nairn and his wife, Sue of Long Beach, Calif., and Christopher A. Nairn of Madison, Wis.; three step-children, Glenda Stewart of Frederick, Md., Glenn Stewart and his wife, Deborah of Fort Myers, Fla., and Gregg Stewart and his wife, Cindy of Leesburg, Va.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Nairn and a sister, Monnette Sturgill, both of Kentucky. He’s also survived by his sister-in-law, Donna Skehan and her husband, Michael of DuBois.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and Tom Nairn.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.
