Dennis G. Middleton, 58, of Clearfield died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at UPMC Shady Side Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born Aug. 13, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Charles A. and Ida B. (Carter) Middleton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He retired after 25 years from the Clearfield County base as a 9-1-1 dispatcher. He was Methodist by faith.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved his children and grandchildren.
He’s survived by his wife, Karen L. (Moriarity) Middleton, whom he married on Nov. 20, 1976; three children, Honi Ross and her husband, David, Brett Middleton and his partner, Alisha Gisewhite and Shane Middleton and his wife, Jamie, all of Clearfield; six grandchildren, Matthew, Ryon, Emma, Ally, Brett Isaac and Cole; two sisters, Doris Cook and Dawn M. Middleton, both of Cleveland, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, E. Lynell Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Monday at the funeral home.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Clearfield American Legion Post No. 6 and the VFW Post No. 1785 Honor Guard.
