William J. Welker II, 57, of Clearfield died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at his home.

He was born Nov. 3, 1956 in Clearfield, a son of William Welker I of Leesburg, Fla. and the late Mary (Illig) Welker.

Mr. Welker was employed as a truck driver and most recently by Wal-Mart. He enjoyed motorcycles and belonged to the Clearfield Cycle Club and attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Betty E. (Luce) Bloom Welker, whom he wed Nov. 6, 2009, and five children, William J. Welker III and his companion, Cassandra Nicholson of Garrett, Jessica Wallace and her husband, Brandon of Woodland, Michele Bloom and his companion, Francis Haversack of Hyde, Jerry Bloom and his wife, April of Sugar Land, Texas and Charles Bloom and wife, Sherri of Clearfield.

He’s also survived by 12 grandchildren; five sisters, Jeanine Smith and her husband, Ralph of Pioneer, Calif., Betty Ann Scarberry and her husband, Tom of Akron, Ohio, Debbie Smith and her husband, John of Hartville, Ohio, Susan Posten and her husband, Tim of Uniontown, Ohio and Mary Beth Butler of Leesburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield, with the Rev. Penney Rahm officiating. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Monday at the church.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second St., Clearfield.

The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, is in charge of arrangements.
