Recognized by PBA with Years of Service Award

CLEARFIELD – Five, long-time employees of CNB Bank, Robin L. Hay, Edward H. Proud, Larry A. Putt, Susan J. Shimmel and Dennis J. Sloppy were recognized for serving 40 or more years in the banking industry at the Pennsylvania Bankers Association (PBA) Spring Summit Group 6 meeting held on April 9 at the Calvin House in Duncansville.
The 40-Year Club consists of bankers completing 40 or more years of service in Pennsylvania’s banking industry and who are regular members of the PBA.
“These individuals have helped to grow and shape this organization into what it is today,” stated Joseph B. Bower Jr., president and chief executive officer of CNB Bank. “They show true dedication to their work and I am very proud that they continue to be a part of the CNB family.”
Hay began his banking career at CNB in 1973 as messenger. Throughout his career, he’s held the positions of head teller, Credit Department manager, assistant branch manager, assistant cashier lending, branch manager, commercial loan officer, and is now vice president/commercial lending at the bank’s main office in Clearfield.
Proud began his banking career at CNB in 1966 as a part-time messenger and teller. After being hired full-time in 1972, he’s held the positions of data processing manager, assistant cashier/data processing, assistant vice president/information systems and is now vice president/information systems at the bank’s main office in Clearfield.
Putt began his banking career at CNB in 1968 as messenger. Throughout his career, he’s held the positions of teller, collections officer, loan officer, branch manager and is now banking officer at the bank’s office located on Industrial Park Road in Clearfield.
Shimmel began her banking career at CNB in 1970 as receptionist. Throughout her career, she’s held the positions of secretary, customer services officer, assistant cashier and has served as the community office manager at the bank’s Old Town Road office in Clearfield for the past 20 years.
Sloppy began his banking career at CNB in 1972 as messenger. Throughout his career, he’s held positions in data processing, computer programming and is now information systems officer at the bank’s main office in Clearfield.
All five of these individuals have dedicated much of their time back to the community. They’ve volunteering their expertise and time to several Clearfield area organizations and continue to be active in our communities.
The Pennsylvania Bankers Association, located in Harrisburg, is the state’s major banking trade association representing an expansive and diverse membership. The association offers extensive continuing education programs, government relations representation on behalf of the industry, and provides numerous products and services for banks and their employees.
