Mark Allen Lauterbock, 55, of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and formerly of Philipsburg died Dec. 29, 2013 at his residence in Florida.
He was the son of the late Ernest Lauterbock and Joanna McGrath, who survives of Philipsburg. He was born on Sept. 18, 1958 in Philipsburg. Also surviving is his long-time companion, Robert Peer of Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Mr. Lauterbock was of the Protestant faith and had served for four years in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, hiking and backpacking. He also loved cooking and gardening.
He was a civil engineer with the federal government until retiring. He was a 1976 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School and a 1986 graduate of the Florida Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in ocean engineering.
In addition to his mother and companion, he’s survived by a sister, Nancy Twoey and her husband, Bill of Philipsburg; a brother, Wayne Lauterbock and his wife, Liz of Eustis, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Philipsburg, with the Rev. Mark Thumma officiating. A luncheon will follow the services at church.
There will be no public visitation.
