SYKESVILLE BOROUGH – A pedestrian sustained moderate injuries after being struck by a vehicle Friday on Main Street in Sykesville Borough, reported the state police at DuBois.
Jenna L. Fike of Sykesville was stopped in her vehicle on North Park Street. She was waiting for a green light, as a pedestrian, Dorothy Torretti, also of Sykesville, was crossing Main Street.
Fike started to turn left onto Main Street and failed to observe Torretti. She subsequently struck Torretti and knocked her to the ground, state police said.
Torretti was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. Fike was cited for the accident.
