Huntingdon — The Clearfield Area High School Junior Varsity football team allowed a single touhdown in each of its first three games; but pitched a shutout against the host Huntingdon Bearcats Monday night 15-0.

What would prove to be the winning score came on a 14-yard touchdown run by Dakota Shimmel in the first quarter. The 2-point conversion set the halftime score at 8-0.

Clearfield tacked on an insurance score on a 1-yard plunge by quarterback Erik Sellers in the third period. Josh Sorbera split the uprights to mark the final tally in the 15-0 win.

Dakota Shimmel led the Bison in rushing with 84 yards, plus recovered a fumble after one of Sellers’ three interceptions. Corey Shimmel ran for 67 yards on 11 carries, Sellers ran four times for 19 yards, and Cody Spaid added nine yards on his three carries.

Sellers completed four passes for 41 yards on the night, two to Sorbera for 23 yards and two to Mason Royer for 18 yards.

The Bison (4-0) will return to the Bison Sports Complex next Monday night when they host Central Mountain.
