CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area School District has released the following information for parents and students for the upcoming school year. The first student day is Aug. 28; the last student day is June 5, 2014.
Fifth grade orientation and schedules will be held Aug. 22, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Clearfield Area Middle School. All fifth grade students and parents should report to the auditorium. All fifth grade students will receive their schedules during the orientation.
All students who are in grades six through eight will have their schedules mailed to them. Students should expect to receive schedules sometime during the week of Aug. 19-23.
Due to construction at the Clearfield Area High School, all student schedules for the ninth through twelfth grades will be mailed out this year. Students should expect to receive schedules sometime during the week of Aug. 19-23.
The district announced school day start and end times. Students who are in kindergarten through fourth grade will start at 8:45 a.m. and be dismissed at 2:45 p.m. Students who are in the fifth through eighth grades will start at 7:50 a.m. and be dismissed at 3 p.m. Students who are in the ninth through twelfth grades will start at 7:46 a.m. and be dismissed at 3 p.m.
The district noted an Act 80 in-service day for the elementary and middle school is scheduled for Sept. 23. Elementary and middle school students will not be in school that day. All high school and vocational students will be in school on their regular schedule. Teacher in-service days are scheduled for Nov. 11; Jan. 20, 2014; and June 6, 2014. School will not be in session for students on those days.
The district also announced its breakfast and lunch prices. Elementary and middle school breakfasts are $1.30 (reduced, 30 cents); lunches are $2.20 (reduced, 40 cents). High School breakfasts are $1.35 (reduced, 30 cents); lunches are $2.30 (reduced, 40 cents). Milk is 50 cents.
