Police Report: Sandy Township

  • A truck driver reported Friday that while his truck was parked in the Pilot Parking lot, another truck struck it and caused severe damage.  The operator of the suspected truck left the scene.
  • Police responded to an alarm Friday at the Dollar General Store in the Sandy Plaza.  Upon arrival police found that the front glass door had been smashed in.  The store was searched and the suspects had already left the scene.  Initially police determined that there were only a few items missing from the store. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
  • A 36-year-old DuBois man reported Friday that he had not seen his children in seven days.  The children were to be in the care of his estranged wife in Treasure Lake.  Police located the woman and children and determined they were OK.  The situation was handled without incident.
  • Police investigated a noise complaint Friday in the Circle Road area.  Nothing was found.
  • A West Liberty Road woman reported Friday that she thought someone was in her garage due to the motion lights coming on.  Upon investigation no one was found.
  • Wal-Mart employees reported Saturday that a 37-year-old Clearfield woman stole a number of items from the store and then returned them.  Charges are currently pending.
  • On Saturday a 17-year-old DuBois boy was caught by Wal-Mart employees while attempting to take an air freshener without paying for it.  Charges are currently pending
  • Police received a report of kids who were riding a four wheeler Saturday on South Brady Street near Kwik Fill.  Police checked the area but could not locate the kids.
  • On Saturday a 37-year-old Reynoldsville man reportedly assaulted his 37-year-old girlfriend at the Kwik Fill.  The man was located while getting out of his vehicle on Tipp Street.  The man was uncooperative with police but taken into custody. The man was intoxicated and in violation of his probation. 
  • Treasure Lake Security reported Saturday that someone cut a chain and lock off of a gate.
  • A DuFast driver reported Saturday that while driving in the DuBois Mall parking lot, a red Chevrolet pick-up truck cut in front of the bus and nearly caused a collision.  The truck left the scene.
  • A 60-year-old Treasure Lake man reported Saturday that he was being harassed by a neighbor. 
  • A Basse Terra Road, Treasure Lake resident reported Saturday that their neighbors were having a loud party.  Upon investigation police found the complaint to be unfounded. 
  • On Saturday police responded to a Captain Jack Court, Treasure Lake residence for a reported domestic disturbance between a 35-year-old woman and her 31-year-old husband. The two were involved in a verbal argument when he allegedly grabbed her and pushed her away. Police handled the situation without incident.
  • On Saturday a vehicle driven by a 47-year-old Reynoldsville woman was unable to stop to avoid hitting a vehicle driven by a 22-year-old Treasure Lake man that was turning into Dr. Doolittles.  No injuries and minor damage were reported.
  • Charges are pending against a 36-year-old Reynoldsville man after he ran his vehicle off Sykes Street Extension on Saturday.  When asked, the man told police he’d been drinking. He then failed field sobriety testing and was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center for a legal blood draw.
  • A 41-year-old Circle Road resident reported Saturday that her 55-year-old neighbor walked through her yard on Saturday. When she told him to leave her yard he yelled obscenities at her. Police handled the situation without incident.
