Geynet H. Owens, 85, of Woodland died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at his home. He was born Oct. 26, 1927, a son of the late Merrill and Wava (Dixon) Owens.
Mr. Owens was a dairy farmer all of his life. He was affiliated with the Lake Street United Methodist Church, Woodland. He was a member of the former Main Street United Methodist Church, Woodland.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla J. (Stevens) Owens, whom he wed June 7, 1950 in Woodland; five children, Edwin Owens of Watsontown, Brian Owens and his wife, Karen of Woodland, Shawn Owens and his wife, Debbie of and Holly Carr and her husband, Robert, all of Morrisdale and Michele Dixon of Clearfield; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Russell Owens and his wife, Maxine of Woodland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Ivan Ray Berringer, son of Michele Dixon; and Kevin Shane Owens, son of Shawn and Debbie Owens and a daughter-in-law Patti (Lingle) Owens, wife of Edwin Owens.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Pastor Sean Patrick Smith and the Rev. David Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Foundation for Health – Hospice, P.O. Box 992, Clearfield, or to the Lake Street United Methodist Church, 115 Lake St., Woodland.
