Police Report: Ridgway PSP

A DUI-related accident occurred Sunday at the intersection of Hayes Road and Main Street in Fox Township. State police attempted a traffic stop on a Polaris side-by-side utility-terrain vehicle after observing code violations. The operator attempted to flee and lost control of the UTV while trying to back through a ditch into a driveway. As he tried to exit the driveway, he lunged forward onto the roadway and struck a marked patrol unit in a head-on collision. The operator sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment. State police further determined he was intoxicated and subsequently arrested him for DUI, fleeing and eluding and related offenses.
