TYRONE — The Tyrone Hospital Foundation announced that its 12th annual Tree of Light fundraiser generated $4,999.37, which was an 8.5 percent increase over 2011.
Randy Miles Sr., chairman of the Foundation Board of Trustees said, “We are very grateful for the support the community extends to Tyrone Hospital through this annual fund raiser.”
Funds raised will be used to help pay for digital mammography technology for Tyrone Hospital.
Major supporters of the Tree of Light in 2012 were Tyrone Area School District employees, Chicago Rivet & Machine Company and Mrs. Betty Patton. There were also numerous donations from community members, social and civic groups, local businesses and members of the Tyrone Hospital family.
Each year, the Tree of Light raises funds through the sale of angels to memorialize or honor loved ones.The angels are displayed on Christmas trees in the hospital’s main lobby during the holiday season.
