Obituary Notice: Jake M. Caylor

Jake M. Caylor, 78, of DuBois died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Montifore in Pittsburgh. Born Feb. 15, 1934 in Punxsutawney, he was the son of the late Clarence and Radie (Mauk) Caylor.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

In 1961, he married Josephine “Jo” M. (Yeafol) Caylor.  She survives.

He retired from McLean Publishing Company, working at the DuBois Courier Express after 43 years of service.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in DuBois, a past member of the Old Towne Beagle Club, and the Garfield Lodge Free and Accepted Masons #559.  Along with his wife, he was a very successful hunter and fisherman going all over the United States and Canada on many adventures.

He is survived by a sister, Hazel Shimmel of Mechanicsburg and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Shaffer and Evelyn Woodrow and one brother, Walter Caylor.

There will be a private family visitation.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Lance Tucker officiating.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
