Stephina I. Danko, 86, of Hawk Run died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
She was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Coval) Pollock born June 27, 1926 in Philipsburg. She married Frank A. Danko on Sept. 30, 1950 at the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hawk Run. He survives her at home.
Mrs. Danko was a member of the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hawk Run and of the church alter and rosary society. She was also a member of the Jednota Lodge.
She was a homemaker and mother.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Danko was preceded in death by an infant son, Jerome; four sisters, Margaret Pollock, Josephine Hanslovan, Matilda Patkalitsky and Hermena Belko; two brothers, John and George Pollock; and a son-in-law, Brian Ward.
Along with her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Brenda A. Ward of Hawk Run; a son, Bernard J. Danko and his wife, Shirley of Duncannon; a sister, Helen Bordas of Philipsburg; and a brother, Lewis Pollock and his wife, Anne of Munhall.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jeremy Danko and his wife, Amy of Reading; Michael Danko and his wife, Jennifer of Glen Burnie, MD; Kenneth Danko and his wife, Jennifer of Newport; Melissa Lusk and her husband, Joshua of King of Prussia; and Samantha, Jason, Thomas and Allison Ward, all of Hawk Run; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hawk Run with the Rev. Robert J. Horgas as celebrant. Burial will be at the Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery in Hawk Run.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
