Sankey Wins 74th District Seat

CLEARFIELD – Republican Thomas R. Sankey III defeated his Democratic opponent Mark B. McCracken for the 74th district state representative seat during Tuesday’s General Election.

Sankey garnered 13,377 votes, or 60.83 percent, to McCracken’s 8,591 votes, or 39.07 percent, according to the Clearfield County Election Web site.

The 74th district has long been held by State Rep. Camille “Bud” George of Houtzdale. George was first elected to the seat in 1974 and has served for the past 38 years. George didn’t seek re-election.

All results are unofficial until certified by the Clearfield County Board of Elections.
