The Hyde Wesleyan Church will launch “SKY,” this year’s Vacation Bible School program. The program will run from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Aug. 5 – 9.
Children who are in kindergarten through fifth grades will be able to experience exciting aerial adventures. At SKY, the VBS kids discover that by trusting God, everything is possible. The VBS theme verse is: “Everything is possible with God” (Mark 10:27).
Children dream of flight, and SKY is designed so that each evening, kids will rotate through activity stations with their Flight Crews. Each part of SKY is intentionally designed to connect your kids to God, create change in their hearts and provide them with actionable ways to share God’s love with others.
After a week at SKY, kids will be equipped to live out their faith, taking home what they have learned and sharing God’s love with their family and friends. They’ll participate in Bible-learning activities, sing songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into treats, experience Bible adventures and create Bible Point crafts.
They will meet the creatures in the sky: Apollo, the caterpillar; Orville, the pig; Pat, the bat; Rockette, the flying squirrel; and Scout, the bald eagle. Each one of these animals will remind children that everything is possible with God. Kids will also learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings.
Children will participate in a hands-on mission project called Operation Kid-to-Kid™ that involves millions of other children across North America. Operation Kid-to-Kid is a partnership of Group Publishing, the producers of SKY, and non-denominational Christian organizations. This year’s project is mosquito netting that will be sent to children in the African nation of Mali to protect them from malaria.
Each day concludes with a Wrap-Up—a celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. Family members and friends are encouraged to join in daily for this special time at 8:15 p.m.
“SKY” will be held at the church, 1215 Riverview Rd., Clearfield. To pre-register online, go to www.hydewesleyan.org and click on the “SKY” button or call 765-5958. Parents will need to provide their names, addresses and contact information including phone number or cell phone, where they can be contacted during VBS hours, in addition to their children’s names and ages.
